Overview
Page Editor allows admins to modify page layouts, add or remove blocks from pages, rename pages and more.
Navigate to the Admin Panel and select Page Editor under the Site Building Tools menu.
Edit a Page
First find the page you want to edit. The easiest way to do this is to look at the URL of the page on the frontend, for example https://participantportal.smallworldlabs.com/exhibitorhub and search (CRTL F) the page editor screen for /exhibitorhub.
Click Edit on that row.
At the top of the edit screen, you’ll see:
- Page Title: the page title will determine the name of the page
- Page Title/Image Location:
- Select Off to have no page title appear on the front end
- Select Below Subheader to have the page title appear below the second section on the page
- Select Above Subheader to have the page title appear above the second section on the page
When Page Title/Image Location is set to Below or Above Subheader there will be additional options.
- Show Page Title/Image On: allows you to determine what screen sizes the title will appear on
- Title Background Color: enter in a hex color code or click on the box to the right to open the color picker modal
- Title Text Color: enter in a hex color code or click on the box to the right to open the color picker modal
- Hide Title Text: check this to hide the title text if you want only a color banner or a page title image without the text
- Enable Page Title Max Width: check this to make the page title image or color run the full width of the window instead of obeying the container
- Page Title Image: select a page title image or upload a new image to use (we recommend 2000 x 200; short page title images are better as they don’t push main content too far down the page)
- Page URL: this is what the site URL for this page will be (see the URL listed below this field). You can change the page URL, but please note that if this is a page that is linked to a navigation menu item in the Navigation Editor, the URL in the Navigation Editor will need to be updated for the menu link to work.
- Page Description: the page description is just informational
- Column Layout: this determines the layout, number of columns, and size of the columns in the third section, aka the main section of the page
- Anchor small columns: check this to anchor short columns to the top of the screen as user’s scroll further down the page on long columns. For example, if the first column has three blocks and the second column only has one block, check this to ensure users can still access the block in the second column while scrolling.
- Version History: this allows you to see previously saved versions of the page, who edited them and revert to an older version
- Display Only For Member Segments:
- When set to No, all users will have access to this page
- When set to Yes, Allowed Member Segments section will show. This allows you to select which segments of users are allowed to access this page, for example only exhibitors can access the Event Portal.
- Viewable Without Logging In: check this if you want users to be able to access the page without logging in first
The Page Layout section is where blocks can be added, removed, and moved around the layout.
Add/Edit a Block
Add a Block
Click + Add Block to add a new block to a section.
Select the Category and then select the Type. The category informs which block types are available.
For this example, we’ll use the Organizations > Meetings block.
- Organizations are the same thing as Exhibitors.
All blocks will have these fields in common:
- Title: this is what will appear as the title of the block on the frontend user interface, update as needed
- Hide: select an option from the dropdown, the most common selection is Never
- Never means the block is never hidden
- If Logged In means the block is hidden if the user is logged in
- If Logged Out means the block is hidden if the user is logged out
- Show Block On: allows you to determine what screen sizes the title will appear on
- Display Module Header: allows you to determine whether the Title will be shown or hidden on the front end user interface
- Show in lightbox: when checked, the block will show in a lightbox
- Allowed Member Segments: allows you to select which segments of users are allowed to access/view this block
Scrolling down will show you additional settings, which vary from block to block.
Click Save when finished adding the block.
- The save button is at the bottom of the scrolling modal
Make sure when you’re done editing the page and blocks you click Save on the page editor screen also.
Edit a Block
Click Edit on a block to edit it.
The Category field will tell you which block it is. For this example, the block is Users > Browse Users, where Users is the category and Browse Users is the block type.
Edit the block settings as needed.
Click Save when finished editing the block.
Make sure when you’re done editing the page and blocks you click Save on the page editor screen also.

Click Edit Row to change the column layout of the row.
Select the column layout you want and click Save.
Next, add blocks to your new row as needed.
Make sure when you’re done editing the page and blocks you click Save on the page editor screen.
Add a Custom Page

Click Create New Page under the Site Pages section.
Follow the instructions detailed in the Edit a Page and Add/Edit a Block sections of this document.
Click Save when finished editing or adding any blocks.
Make sure when you’re done editing the page and blocks you click Save on the page editor screen also.
Click Publish to publish the page for front end users.
Click Delete to delete the custom page.
Add Advertisement Blocks
Exhibitors can add advertisements for the frontend. Then exhibitors will be able to upload ads, assuming their exhibitor level has permission (see this section for more details).
Navigate to the Admin Panel and select Page Editor under the Site Building Tools menu.
Find the page you want to add the advertisement to and click Edit.
Click + Add Block to the section you want the advertisement in.
Select Organizations as the category and Organization Sponsor as the type.
There are three types of advertisements, and they depend on the width of the column they are in on page editor:
- Skyscraper: an ad is considered a skyscraper when it is in a column of 25-33% page width
- Leaderboard: an ad is considered a leaderboard when it is in a column of 50-67% page width
- Billboard: an ad is considered a billboard when it is in a column of 100% page width
Skyscraper advertisements are vertical. Billboard and leaderboard advertisements are horizontal. See examples pictured below.
- Advertisements will only show if there is an exhibitor of that level that has an advertisement image of that type uploaded.
Each advertisement can be set to show Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and/or Bronze sponsored ads. Select which exhibitor level advertisements you want to display in the block settings under Sponsor Level.
If there is more than one ad, the ads will rotate between all of them.
To feature a select few exhibitors instead of by level, enter in Organization Ids and leave the Sponsor Level unchecked. The Organization ID can be found by navigating to the exhibitor’s profile page and looking at the URL for the page: /exhibitors/exhibitor/:organization_id, for example https://participantportal.smallworldlabs.com/exhibitors/exhibitor/94.
Click Save when finished editing or adding any blocks.
Make sure when you’re done editing the page and blocks you click Save on the page editor screen also.
