Overview of Preset Access Levels
A user must have access to the Event before access levels are relevant.
Access levels are cumulative, meaning that each level adds on to the previous levels permissions. A level 2 will have all the things a level 1 user has, plus a few more; level 8 has level 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 plus new items. Menu Items that are not available will be grayed out.
Menu items for modules that are not part of the client/event package will not be accessible regardless of access level permissions. For example, conference management (and associated reports) will not be accessible if the conference module was not purchased.
Some menu items (such as company financials pages) will be accessible without the module, but as required configurations for these items are locked, the access to the screen will not provide ability to complete any action.
Some access levels will be hard-coded to a certain minimum, and will not be permitted to be dropped below that level even if the configuration is changed. (For example, Company Payments are hard-coded at 4 as the minimum access level, and cannot be reached by a Level 3 even if the setting is modified.)

Level 1
Contractor Level - This level is configured for your General Service Contractor, Decorator, or other external user that needs only booth/exhibitor data. There is no financial information available to users of this level.
