Calculating Starting and Earned Priority Points
Events > Event Settings > Exposition Management > Priority Points
Priority Points are earned by exhibitors based upon their history of purchasing booth space at past events. The criteria for earning priority points are unique for each client, and need to be discussed with the deployment team and programmed with the specific logic.
When discussing the priority point logic with the deployment team, consider the following
- How are the points earned?
- Do the points expire?
- What happens with priority points during acquisitions, when one exhibitor buys another and their companies are merged in the system?
An example of how priority points may be calculated would be:
Booth Space = 1 point per 100 square feet (10x10) per year.
Sponsorship = 1 point per sponsorship purchased per year.
Update Earned Priority Points – Updates all exhibitors/companies that are associated with this event. Use this to create the earned points for the year’s event. This cannot be reversed once it has been processed inside the system.
Calculate Starting Priority Points - Will calculate the starting priority points that are applicable to this event for all exhibitors who have purchased booth space at a previous event of the same event type.
Exhibitor Priority Point Status
The results will come up in a form called “Exhibitor Priority Point Status.” Use this form to proof the starting or earned points, and then scroll to the bottom of the list and select “Update” or “Calculate” to process the data.
Whether you have chosen update earned priority points or calculate starting priority points the form will show you all the fields:
Company Id – The unique identifier in the system for this company.
Company Name – The name of the company as it appears on the company info screen of the company record.
Booth Size – Net square feet of the booth space(s) this company is assigned. Note: When calculating starting priority points this field will be blank as booth space will not have been purchased yet for this event.
Starting PP – The starting priority points for this company for this event.
Earned PP – The earned priority points for this company for this event. Note: When calculating starting priority points this field will be blank.
Override PP – Any overrides, either positive or negative, that were entered in the company record for this event. Note: When calculating starting priority points this field will be blank.
Closing PP = Starting PP + Earned PP + Override PP. Note: When calculating starting priority points this field will be blank.
