An image containing event information and branding graphics can be added to the top of the public site.
There are two images that should be uploaded. Website Masthead is served on most larger devices, such as a computer screen or a tablet. Mobile Masthead is served on phones and smaller tablets (or when a computer browser window is shrunk to a very small width).
To add an image to the top of email templates, please see this article - this should be a separate, smaller image.
To add a small image to the lower right corner of EventMap page, please see this article.
Website Masthead
The image must have width of 1170px. A height of 120-180px is recommended for best appearance.
Supported file formats are gif, jpg and png.
Activating the Masthead
Whether the Masthead is displayed on your event website is controlled via Event Configuration.
Locate the setting Public Site Interface Configurations. Check the Masthead checkbox to enable it and uncheck it to disable it. Scroll all the way down to click Save.
Naming the file
The image file will need to be renamed on your computer before uploading. The masthead image name has the following format: the word Masthead, underscore, EventID number and the extension. (Ex: Masthead_4.png)
To find the EventID, in GlobalAdmin note the value in the right column on the event list, or if you have clicked on an event, in the breadcrumbs at the top of most pages.
Uploading
In File Management (under Content) scroll down to the Upload File section.
In the Select Upload Path dropdown, choose \images\interface
Click Select to locate the file on your computer.
Click Upload.
Masthead URL
The masthead can be clicked on to direct the users to a URL. It is recommended that the event main site URL be used.
The setting is found in Event Configuration (click on event in the list, Settings, Event Configuration) as "Masthead URL". Populate the field, scroll all the way down, and save.
This setting also controls the click-through URL on event logo on eventmap.
Make sure to enter the full URL including https://
Mobile Masthead
The mobile masthead shows up on smaller devices. The file can be any size, but at least 720px wide is recommended. It can be the same file as your regular masthead, but it is recommended that details that are too small to read on a phone are removed or replaced with simpler, more legible versions.
Naming the file
The image file will need to be renamed on your computer before uploading. The mobile masthead image should be named mobile_masthead.jpg
Uploading
As with the website Masthead:
In File Management (under Content) scroll down to the Upload File section.
In the Select Upload Path dropdown, choose \images\interface
Click Select to locate the file on your computer.
Click Upload.
The mobile masthead will use the same URL.
Troubleshooting
Q: An unexpected image shows up on a smaller device
A: upload a file named mobile_masthead.jpg into the /CUSTOM/images/interface folder. This should be a smaller, less detailed version of your masthead.
Q: No image is displayed in the masthead section,
A: Make sure Masthead is enabled in Event Configuration
Click on event in the list, Settings, Event Configuration. Locate "Public Site Interface Configuration" and ensure Masthead checkbox is activated. If it's not, check the checkbox, scroll all the way down, and save.
Q: A new image was uploaded, but the old one still displays.
A: start by clearing your browser cache to make sure the latest version of the image is being loaded.
Then, verify that the image has been uploaded correctly:
File Management, Manage Folder section, click on the plus next to PUBLIC/CUSTOM, the plus next to "Images" and on the word "Interface" to ascertain whether the upload reached this folder. Verify that the file has the right name and the expected date of upload.
If trying to replace an existing file, the new version should have the same name and extension. (If a previous file was a .png, a new .png should be uploaded rather than .jpg)
Q: An unexpected image shows up on EventMap when someone clicks Help or Home
A: This might mean that your masthead image has not been uploaded using this steps. If it was added via Message Management instead,of if you are using a Premium Template that does not utilize the Masthead image, the Help and Home screen are nonetheless still served by the Masthead image file.
Either create an image with your branding and upload it. It will not show up in the main event section if the Masthead option is not checked in Event Configuration, but it will be available to the Home and Help screens.
If you would like to remove the placeholder image but don't want it to show your event branding, upload a transparent image sized 1170x140px instead.
